Important information on COVID-19 stimulus payment
The IRS has publicly announced online tools for COVID-19 stimulus payments and obtaining information on the status of a payment.
Those who file taxes will automatically get their payment via direct deposit or by check.
Non-filers (including low-income people who are not required to file a tax return) are being directed to use this tool in order to submit a claim.
Be Aware of Fraud
Please be aware that fraudsters can create fake IRS websites to gather sensitive information (SSN, date of birth, bank account info, etc.) from you to receive payments.
You may receive a fraudulent email with links to these fake IRS websites. It is important you do not click on any links in an email related to IRS stimulus payments. If you wish to go to the IRS website, you should go directly through your web browser and not an email.
If you believe you provided your bank information to a fake IRS website, please contact your local branch as soon as you can.
For more information on the COVID-19 Stimulus Payments, please visit www.IRS.gov.
